My name is Birgitta Sól and I’m 16 years old. When I was 6 years old I started to play soccer and have been playing ever since. I have tried many sports before but I always liked soccer the most. At age 11-12 my interest in soccer started to grow very much. When that happened I began to train more extra by myself, eat healthier and think more about me and what I was doing. All the extra training made me better, I was chosen to play in the first team and that gave me so much confidence. My mom played with me couple games and that was very fun. At age 14 I was also chosen to play in the younger national team for Iceland, called U16 and I have been on that team since I was 14 years old. Couple days ago I was offered a deal with another team and I took it so I will be playing differently than I’m used to. But that is just exciting. Now all I can think about is soccer and how I want to be in the future. I train 8 times a week and eat very well. When you train so much you have to think about yourself and make sure you recover and get a good rest so your performance will be good.
My name is Bjartur Bjarmi Barkarson and I started playing football at the age of 5. My parents had to make a deal with the coach at the start because you were only allowed to start practicing in our hometown at the age of 6. The deal was if I would do good at the first practice he would let me keep training, and luckily for both me and my parents I did good, because all I did at home was playing football, and I believe that it is annoying for a family of 5 to have a ball flying around all the time. My parents are my biggest supporters, and I wouldn’t be able to do anything close to what I have accomplished without them, and for that I am thankful.
Hi, my name is María and I’m going to tell you from my soccer career. I was born the 24th of January in 2002. I started practicing soccer when I was seven years old so I have been playing the sport for 9 years. I go to soccer practice 3-4 times a week, I also go to the gym six times a week. always take a recovery day on Sundays but I also like to go swimming sometimes. I started practicing with the woman championship league in 2015, when I was 13. When I was 14 years old I went to the first KSI (The Icelandic soccer committee) practice. I have been on five KSI practices. My dream is to become a good soccer player and play professionally with a big team.
